The open kitchen has also turned out some very respectable chef-picked fish options, including a rendition of blackened swordfish, a dish that can stand up to a sprightly red from Northern Italy. And big plates, such as the lush lobster ravioli with its overkill of butter and more butter, can be spectacularly good. We haven’t been altogether thrilled with the overdressed fried green tomatoes or the ceviche in the past, but Silo’s signature fried oysters rarely disappoint. Chilled Maine lobster is another starter option for colder months, consider the clam chowder with sherry cream. A better wine selection is available upstairs, where a snappy bottle of unoaked Macon Villages pairs nicely with a half dozen oysters from Bristol Bay or maybe Nova Scotia. But if forced to wait in the downstairs lobby, you can at least get a glass of wine from card-operated dispensers. Sara, quality of our lunch, excellent service (Elizabeth), I will be returning to this excellent seafood restaurant.Silo Terrace Oyster Bar Restaurant Review:Īt this Silo location, there’s a new emphasis on fresh oysters and global seafood the second-story scenario of the original outpost, however, remains the same. Sara stopped and introduced herself and I was impressed with her vast culinary knowledge, excellent inter-personal communication skills, perpetually-in-motion to cover all her duties and responsibilities, and all with a positive attitude. We enjoyed the Black Currant Iced Tea, different but refreshing.

We both shared a Truffle Mac & Cheese dish which was light and flavorful, complementing our sandwiches. My friend and I both had the Lobster Roll and the meat was fresh and sweet. The in-house cocktail sauce had a nice spicy kick and the Mustard Aioli was perfect on this hot summer day. Mixed oysters plate, followed by Crispy Calamari. Service (Elizabeth) was attentive, congenial and professional. MoreĪfter several years of procrastinating, I finally dropped by for lunch and "Impressive" is the adjective to describe my friend and my dining experience. This is not somewhere I would go just to have a quick lunch but for a special outing it was a good choice. We had a nice time for a "special lunch" gathering. I believe these were around $10 or so as there were no prices on the dessert menus. Some ordered desert of the Sorbet and also the Chocolate Mousse and these were delicious. There were only a few people during the time we were there so no busy at all and the noise level was very low. It came out warm, slightly grilled, but very dry and no butter. The food was good and everyone seemed to enjoy their choices, but we had to request bread as none was served.

The presentation of the meals was very nice and the servings were what you would expect at this type venue. We all choice different fare for our lunches which included: Silo Soup of the Day, which was Sweet Potato with bacon bits and chives $8, Grilled Oysters Rockefeller $17, Shrimp Nicoise $15, Baby Spinach Salad $9, Parmesan Crusted Chicken w/ angel hair pasta $15, and the Lobster Roll w/parmesan-herb fries $27. They offer paper menus and have a large selection of wine offerings by the glass and by the bottle. Our waiter, Evan was prompt, courteous and efficient. The view from the window side overlooks The Dominion hillside homes. They have three seating areas with one being a partial outside terrace. We had a reservation and were seated timely. You take an elevator up to the second floor to the dining area. a lobby that has two walls with glass wine storage. Parking was not an issue and you go into. It is located on the eastbound access road of IH10 in Dominion Ridge which is across from The Dominion. Several of us got together for lunch recently here and none of us had been here before.
